Take Time For YOU!

Kylee DeBock / DeBock Harvesting

It’s been nearly two weeks since the HarvestHER retreat but I can still feel the rejuvenating affects that came from this amazing experience.

From my house to Omaha, Nebraska, it is an eight-hour drive. However, when you fill your car with friends, the trip flies by!

This year, I and three other ladies carpooled together in my vehicle. Tawanna Zeller met me at my house. I had never met Twanna before she jumped in my car! However, because of this amazing community of women that has been created through GroupMe chats, HarvestHER videos and Facebook, I felt like I already knew her.

We then drove to Kiowa, Kansas to pick up Amanda Buus Thomsen and Megan Klinnert (I had never met her in person either) and then we were on our way!

Headed to Nebraska, sponsor gifts and lots of visiting.

The retreat typically includes several speakers each day and we usually go on at least one outing.

I especially enjoyed our visit to the CLAAS of America headquarters! They treated us to a virtual presentation by Kristine Brown, a live presentation by Eric Raby (President & General Manager – Sales) about CLAAS history followed by lunch in one of their conference rooms. They even had some amazing gifts for us to take home and let us have some fun on the peddle tractors before we left!

Fun day at CLAAS!

So much fun!
What a fantastic group of women!

One evening, we were pampered with facials, massages and a dip in the hot tub! This is one of my favorite evenings. We don’t have a lot on the schedule and it’s a great time for us ladies to just sit around and visit. It’s like a good, old-fashioned slumber party with thirteen-year-old girls giggling all night!

Spa night.
Hot tub fun!

This retreat does so much for my soul! I can tell you that after coming home from a few days with my friends, I am a better wife and mother. As women, we tend to take care of everyone else first and at the end of the day, there isn’t enough energy to take care of ourselves.

The last day of retreat was my 38th birthday. I was welcomed that morning with balloons all over the kitchen, a cake, a beautiful card signed by everyone, and flowers!

I would encourage anyone reading this who has reservations about coming to the retreat to just take a leap of faith and mark your calendar for March 3-6, 2022. I PROMISE you will NOT have any regrets!! You, too, will leave feeling rejuvenated and ready to take on the next harvest season. You will also leave with a lot of new friends and a lot of amazing goodies from our sponsors.

Sporting my CLAAS hat when I went to the Red Dirt Bull Sale!

I also want to say THANK YOU to our fantastic sponsors! This retreat is possible only because you believe in the importance of women’s roles in agriculture.

God bless,

Kylee DeBock
