Spending Time Together

We sure felt welcomed by this cute sign!

Kylee DeBock – DeBock Harvesting

In my last post, we were in Nebraska but we have since made the 11 hour journey to Hardin, Montana where we had just one farmer to cut for this year.

Enjoying a nice evening meal at the field with my friend, Chelsea.

This year’s weather has been extremely hard on the farmer and harvesters! Our southern jobs were affected by the drought, central jobs affected by hail, and our northern farmers were affected by rain. Yes, I said rain. The northern states had record-setting amounts of snowfall and rain. There was so much moisture that the ground was too wet to work or plant. So a lot of the farmers that normally plant winter wheat were unable to get in the fields. Then once they were able to plant, it continued to rain and what seed came up ended up drowning. So, the conditions were all different but ended up with the same result…no crop to be harvested!

While in Hardin, we were able to catch up with some great friends and family. Dillon’s brother, Laramie, lives in Bridger, Montana so we enjoyed a cookout with him and his wife, Dacia, while we were in town.

Fellow HarvestHER, Laura Haffner, and crew are staying at the same RV park. So our kids have enjoyed swimming, riding bikes and playing at the park together. And we have both enjoyed the adult conversation as the kids play! It is great being around another woman who knows the struggles and triumphs of the Harvest lifestyle.

Our family also enjoyed several ice cream treats at The Farmers’s Daughter general store. Landa Uffleman, (who is our farmer’s daughter 😉) opened up a super cute store in downtown Hardin.  She offers great shopping with an array of sweet treats! Check it out if you are ever in the area!!

We are loaded and headed to Havre, Montana in the morning.  So prayers for safe travels are always appreciated!

Happy Harvesting!

God Bless,
