A few of my favorite places…

Amanda Buus-Thomsen – BT Harvesting

Somehow this summer has slipped by and so have the things that I was bound and determined I would do (like getting this written). Recently, I was chatting with someone about the towns we visit along our route and I was asked which one was my favorite. I couldn’t come up with an answer…I mean, yes, there are some that I like more than others, but they almost always have at least one endearing quality about them.

Some are small, some have a ‘good’ grocery store, some have that super cute store I love shopping at, some are close to a bigger town, some we get to catch up with other harvest friends, but they almost always have awesome people in them!

In light of that conversation (and this huge weather delay that we’re currently caught in…again) these are a few of my favorite places along our way…

While we’re in western Kansas, it’s always nice to be able to visit Monument Rock.

The views from some of the fields we cut isn’t too bad either!

Eastern Colorado has one of the best campgrounds, complete with a beautiful park and a bike trail.

If we get time, South Dakota has some great outdoor activities – like reservoirs, rivers and biking.
On this day, my harvester and I biked 13 miles and he was convinced his legs were going to fall off (believe it or not, they’re still attached!)
North Dakota sunsets are hard to beat!
The northern country rarely disappoints!
Truth: I enjoy the wildlife every chance I get!
Even though we’re on the road, we still celebrate birthdays! Chloe has spent half of her life on the road, has more miles under her belt than most people and handles traveling like its her job.
And while this may seem like an odd ‘favorite’, it actually kind of is. This is the living room of our camper on moving day. The second to last moving day of the season to be exact.
Camper livin’ isn’t bad, but when it turns cold, the snow is falling and the water lines are freezing, it sure is nice to know there is only one more moving day left…and that is moving home, home!
