Kylee DeBock / DeBock Harvesting
Harvest 2024 is underway. We have been in Oklahoma since June 1st.
When we showed up, it had rained that morning. We unloaded equipment in the hot, sticky, humid air and it was NOT fun. But, believe it or not, we all survived!
It rained again that evening so there was no cutting for the next few days. This worked out good because we got to visit with family and friends.
We got to work on June 5th!
It was a hot and windy day and the wheat was beautiful…a perfect harvest day! Our hauls were only five miles so the first few days I was able to keep up with one truck. But, as we moved further from the elevator and the wheat bushels increased, we decided to hire a truck to help us keep up.
Colston had stayed back in North Dakota to attend the FFA convention June 3-6. Then he attended a football camp on June 8th. He flew to Oklahoma with my mom on June 9th.
Once Colston was here, we could function much better.
I am so thankful my mom was able to travel with him. It was less stressful knowing he was with an adult. My mom stayed until June 11 and then headed home. We enjoyed a full day together in my truck and it was filled with good conversation and laughs, a great day for sure!
We are about to wrap up our first town and be moving onto the next.
We’ve only been going a week but we are already tired. We haven’t gone to bed the same day we woke up since we started!
We are not in harvest shape yet!
God Bless,
Kylee DeBock
