We made it to South Dakota yesterday evening and were greeted with 20/100’s of rain.
Just couldn’t get enough of the lovely clouds today.I followed this dragonfly for awhile…it only let me so close…but hey, you know me – love a corner post! If you could smell this! Beautiful alfalfa field ready to be cut. Not sure if the dancing little butterflies are noticeable.
Nature has a way of making things okay.Just a WISH away!
My dragon fly again. ❤️😉😊It’s all about the HAY.
But this afternoon, we went out and tried the wheat fields that Myron thought would be the closest to being ready. We were able to cut a couple of loads.
Can ya spot a harvester’s pickup?JaredJust beautiful colors today! The boss writing down what I need to go check out at the parts store. 😊Loading the first load here in Martin.JoshColeThis guy just has a smirk.
Hard to believe it’s South Dakota already but, technically, we have started cutting around July 18th the last few years.
The fields vary but a little heat and wind will make a difference…if we can bypass these next few possible storms.
And so it goes – another day on the trail and hitting the road!
Alas, the pretty clouds turned to rain. (Photo by Josh)
Nancy has been making the custom harvest journey with her husband, Myron, since 1982. In those early years of life on the road, she could be found in the combine or truck - along with any or all of their four children. These days, her time is mostly spent taking care of two campers, walking to the clothesline and back, cooking on the grill, paperwork in the office and windshield time in the cab of a pickup. Whatever it takes to “get ‘er done”! When Myron and Nancy aren't on the road, they call South Heart, North Dakota home.
