Amanda Buus Thomsen – BT Harvesting
When it rains and you’re in a location where friends call home…you never know who might show up.
I (Kent Braathen of Braathen Harvesting) stopped by to visit BT Harvesting today, since we had anywhere from 1-3 inches of rain in the Kiowa, Kansas area.
Today, Amanda was helping finish up detailing trucks that needed new decals applied to them. A HarvestHER’s job has no description and requires complete know-how of all aspects of the operation. She loves the harvest and takes on the daily duties to ensure the harvest runs smoothly for BT Harvesting!
Amanda and her husband, Anders, own BT Harvesting and call Kiowa, Kansas "home, home". Amanda grew up on a farm in Illinois. Prior to meeting Anders in 2011, she was an Ag Teacher and knew very little about the custom harvesting lifestyle. In 2013, she joined Anders for the full harvest run and hasn't looked back. Amanda wears many hats during the harvest journey - chef, payroll clerk, accountant, tractor driver, "go-fer", combine operator, photographer, mechanic, etc.
