Note: This update was sent to me on July 20, 2020. Unfortunately, the website has been down and I was unable to post it before now. (Sorry Dana!)
Harvest2020 has been a complete whirlwind to date. We are only 20 days in and already moving to Montana!
With COVID-19 in full swing, we were extremely thankful to be considered ESSENTIAL and able to cross the border so that we could help the farmers harvest the crops that feed the world.
We arrived in Kansas on July 1, moved to Colorado on July 10, and began heading to Montana on July 19. We will arrive at our destination today and start harvesting as soon as possible!
Wheat harvest this year has been on a smaller scale than usual. It appears that there are less and less wheat acres being planted . Kansas had average crops and our farmer in Colorado experienced drought and freeze conditions which hurt his crop significantly.
This is our 22nd year of harvest and one of the things we love is that each year brings a new adventure. Wishing everyone a safe harvest season!
