Caramel Rice Krispie Bars

Make your regular batch of Rice Krispie Bars…I personally never substitute anything for Snap, Crackle and Pop!

When pans are full (can half this recipe and will have leftover caramel, like I did) you need 2 for sure. Spread a container of marshmallow creme over the entire pan.

Peel the wrappers off a bag and about 1/2…calls for 14 ounces. Now back in the day, one bag was 16 ounces! Anyway, I had some of the new “Caramel Bits” pieces, so I added them to the mixture when about half melted.

Let it cook and then spread it over the marshmallow creme on the pan of bars.

Flip one pan of the bars on top of the Caramel pan and you have your bar!

I cut in finger-sized shape and wrap for lunch or for supper tonight (they will be dessert).

I have found this recipe in several recipe books and it always calls for a 9 x 13 pan. To me, they are way too thick and gooey.
