Audra Zimmerman – Zimmerman Harvesting
It’s been awhile since I last posted. To be exact, on September 23rd we were in Oklahoma starting our fall Soybean harvest. It took several weeks of battling weather and green beans to finish up in Oklahoma.
On December 1st, we made a trip back to Texas to try to find some work harvesting either Guar or Sesame. We were headed back to the area of Texas where we started Wheat harvest this past May. Instead of hauling our equipment all the way back to Ohio, we wanted to get it back to Texas and, hopefully, pay for the fuel down here.

On Dec 2nd we started harvesting 500 acres of Guar. On Dec 7th we finished up the Guar, cleaned up the Combine and got it moved to our customer’s farm near Knox City TX, where she will sit until May when we will make the trip back down here for maintenance and the start of wheat harvest 2018.
Tomorrow, I will spend my birthday starting the trip back to Ohio! After seven months on harvest, I am so ready to go home. This year has been emotionally hard for me and I just need a break. I need to go play in the snow. It was 80 degrees here in Texas today – that is just too hot for this Northern city girl who loves to snow ski!!
Hope everyone had a wonderful harvest and will have a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2018!!
