Planting Hope The 2018 North Dakota Wheat Crop

This is our world at the moment – planting our wheat crop. Well, at least until the little rain storm we had on Sunday night. It all starts with planting the seed. No matter which state or country, it has to be planted to be harvested.

As a farmer, HarvestHER and rancher, I know all too well about the hopes and wishes that go into and along with the process of planting.

It just so happens that as we are planting and enjoying the touches of green here in Southwest North Dakota, some of our friends and customers have had the reality of golden fields, dashed.

Somewhere…always…there are crops and produce being planted as well as being harvested. Somewhere…always…Mother Nature makes a difference.

I truly pray that all hopes and wishes of farmers and producers of this world, as well as the hopes and dreams of those who bring in the harvest, come to fruition.

We need never forget where our food comes from and always respect the business of agriculture.

I found this prayer last year and now have it displayed in our living room.

Lord, bless the land You’ve given me,
And may I always know
As I tend each crop and creature
You’re the one who helps them grow.
Grant me strength and wisdom;
Please protect me from all harm, And thank you for your gracious gift —-
The blessing of a farm.
