Day 3
This morning started early with pancakes and blueberry brats and then I made a parts run to Jamestown (which ended up lasting 4 hours). I had 10 calls in my phone from Myron. All needed parts were picked up and I did manage to get a few groceries.
Back at the campers, I unloaded, did laundry, daily clean up and then it was time to work on supper.
Pretty good day, as all of us kept busy. Thankful to be able to harvest!
Packing up supper (treat jar in background 😘 who doesn’t love Good and Plenty’s?). Sloppy Joes, vegetable pasta salad, last of the cupcakes and fresh strawberries.
Was able to get to the field at sundown and snap a few pictures.
Nancy has been making the custom harvest journey with her husband, Myron, since 1982. In those early years of life on the road, she could be found in the combine or truck - along with any or all of their four children. These days, her time is mostly spent taking care of two campers, walking to the clothesline and back, cooking on the grill, paperwork in the office and windshield time in the cab of a pickup. Whatever it takes to “get ‘er done”! When Myron and Nancy aren't on the road, they call South Heart, North Dakota home.
