Kylee DeBock – DeBock Harvesting

We finished cutting on Thursday in Northgate, ND and as of Wednesday morning, North Dakota was our last job.

We were planning on cleaning up equipment and heading home. Well, as all harvesters know, making plans on harvest is about as good as trying to sell ice to an Eskimo. It’s just not going to happen! However, in this case, having our plans changed was a good thing. By Wednesday afternoon, we were headed to another job! We will be leaving for Iowa on Monday! This has been a trying year for all farmers and harvesters alike so when you get an opportunity for more work…you take it. We have never harvested in Iowa nor have any of us ever been there, so we are all looking forward to the new adventure.

The boys’ last day of school was on Friday. They were both sad to say goodbye to their friends. But they too are excited about moving to a new town. They have made so many great friendships and we look forward to staying in touch with their classmates throughout the school year.

Some harvest crews are back home now and I hope you all had a successful year. If your crew is still on the road, I pray for your safety.

God Bless,
Kylee DeBock
