Kylee DeBock – DeBock Harvesting

We are still up in North Dakota plugging away at our fall crops.

We have finished the durum and mustard and have moved on to soybeans. We endured a two-week rain delay at the end of September but once we finally got going again, we have been on a pretty good roll. Until Friday evening, I have not gone on a parts run all year!! That has never happened! Of course, we’ve had our normal belts and bearings break or go out but, luckily, we’ve had everything in our parts trailer, (We’ve picked things up here and there from the tech van but nothing has been an “I am broke down till you get here with the new part” kind of situation.)

Friday, I was running the grain cart and Dillon was in the combine. He called on the radio and asked me to bring him the service truck. When I get over there, I see that the combine is leaning – the left front tire had been punctured.  So Dillon airs it up and continues to cut for a bit, then airs it up again…this went on the rest of the evening. When it was quitting time, he took the combine to the farmer’s shop, took the tire off and loaded it on a trailer. I got up early Saturday morning and headed to Minot. They didn’t have a new tire but they had a used one that would get us by until our new one gets here next week.

That’s enough about business…let’s move on to more fun stuff! Colston has been playing flag football. It is put on by a local church so he not only gets to learn to play the game, he is being taught about Jesus!! They played two games and even got to scrimmage during halftime of the varsity game! Colston loved being under the bright lights! He scored two touchdowns, picked off two passes, and got numerous “tackles”! It was sure fun watching him play!!

I hope everyone reading this is having a blessed day!

Happy Harvesting!

God Bless,
Kylee DeBock
