What an awesome weekend we had!

We got to meet up with my sister and dad to help lead us to camp on the CO/WY border since there is no cell service up there at all. That was pretty handy!

Because there was no cell service and mom had gone up a couple of days earlier, there was no way to tell her we were coming. When we pulled up, she was so surprised and squeezed out a tear or two. That is one of the fun parts of this life. We never know until last-minute if we can do something, so there are lots of surprises for the family!

We had so much fun. We shared a campsite with some family friends when we got there. I might have told Turk it was a super smooth road getting to the campsite…well it was mostly true…just one little spot that was really rough. But, he took it slow and got our huge house-on-wheels through it! (He wasn’t overly impressed, I might add!)

Such pretty mornings.

We were lucky enough to have Jim and DeAnn lend us the gator so we tore all over with four wheelers! Dad normally goes elk hunting in this area so we all had our eyes peeled for elk. Well, instead of elk, we actually got to sneak up on quite a few moose! It was so neat because Turk has never seen a moose in the wild and I’ve only seen one once. We saw a grand total of 5 moose!

One Mamma Moose and her baby that is hiding pretty darn well.

We had campfires and were even spoiled with a Cajun boil one night.

Although it rained a little bit on and off, we didn’t let that ruin our time! Dad pulled out the awning on his camper and we all huddled under and ate our supper (All 9 of us)! We just curled up in jackets and waterproof coats and went down trails…and took our heater out of hibernation.

I am pretty sure Turk and I need one…

We learned a couple of things about dry camping with our house-on-wheels and now know what to do to improve our next dry camping experience!

What an awesome Labor Day weekend! Now we are back to Colby to hopefully pick some corn tomorrow and kick off the fall harvest season!!!
