Lindsey Orgain – Orgain Farms & Harvesting
On a whim, I decided to try something I’ve seen floating around facebook…”20 Crock Pot Freezer Meals”.
I think my inspiration came from returning home & not really having anything to eat in the house. Where do you start? I think I had a bottle of ketchup & a jar of moldy cheese dip in the fridge.
This particular freezer meal list had a shopping list ready for me and didn’t have too many processed foods included, so to the store I went!
The author claimed that it would take four hours to prep everything, but I’d lean more towards six’ish. I wasn’t really paying attention to the clock, but was ready to quit about halfway through!
That’s when the wine came out. In her defense, I really wasn’t organized going into this. She was very detailed in her approach, but I kind of did my own thing. Next time, I’ll try to take her advice
We had the broccoli beef (pretty darn good) last night and the chicken chili is almost ready tonight! It has been pretty nice to thaw a meal overnight and toss it in the crockpot the next day. I think I would do this again, but maybe just do ten meals instead of twenty…that’s a LOT!
I’m a little worried about a few of the recipes I prepped-they are things I would normally make and am not too sure how they will go over with my family 🙂 We shall see!!
