WE ARE DONE IN GUYMON, OK!!!
We have officially finished our 2016 wheat harvest run for Guymon, OK and tomorrow we will move back to our home-base of Colby, KS!!
Nothing but stubble and windmills left!!
We have ran our booty’s off let me tell ya, and we are all pretty exhausted after all these long, hot days. The farmers are very happy with the yields they got this year. We put all six machines in one circle of down wheat and that made for a picture session. That’s the first time I’ve ever seen all six machines run one after another in the same field, and it was a sight to see!
Pretty awesome to see that pop up on your machine screen!
We, of course, celebrated tonight with an awesome steak supper with all the guys. It is just amazing to see all these guys start off as total strangers to one another and now they are all working together to get the farmers crop to the elevator. The best thing about tonight was all the chatter between the guys and laughs while we were eating and then the sounds of rain drops after knowing all the crop is in.
Hope to see some of you guys in the next couple of days in Kansas!!
1. Be ready to go at the drop of a hat...sometimes without a lunchbox.
2. Has removed the word impossible from her vocabulary!
3. Can hold a baby, take care of a toddler and drive a tractor or combine all at the same time.
4. Must be able to cook for a crew - large or small.
5. Must be able to read minds.
6. Must be able to banter with a parts man until he realizes you DO know what you're talking about.
7. Must be the entertainment director for those rainy days.
8. Be a wife, mom, friend, helper, cook, problem solver, taxi driver or extra crew hand at all times.
9. Can handle the call that makes you react, "You need what? When?" Dropping everything you're doing to make it happen.
10. At the end of the day say, "I really do love this life".
