Today we went swimming (unintentionally). We got drenched three separate times, in two different states. After my rather unproductive day yesterday, I thought a run would help my mental state. So I saddled up Rooster and Sissy in the double jogger that I BEGGED Caleb to bring (I know it’s huge and bulky, but if I don’t have my double stroller I will slit someone’s throat!). The dog came on our jog, too, of course. Every time we do this, I look like the redheaded (literally) stepchild of the Beverly Hillbillies and Jillian Michaels. Then the sky just randomly cracked open and it sounded like somebody dropped a jar of marbles on grandma’s kitchen floor. It poured. Rooster and I just reveled in the cool rain, but Blaze and Sissy were not impressed. Someone drove up to me slowly and rolled their window down as if to talk to me. I thought they were going to offer us a ride, but they took one look at my mascara tributaries and sped away. We hobbled home through the red mud (trying to avoid the frogs in the road), dried off, and tried to remedy the fact that we all smelled like wet possums.

About a half hour later, Brittany and I were on our way to Lawton, OK to do the shopping when we got caught in a flash flood. The road was in deep water and lightning struck on either side of us! Luckily, we were able to turn around and drive on to Wichita Falls, TX. As you ladies know, the show must go on, the shopping must be done! We were so scared, though. When we finally got to Wichita Falls, it was lunchtime, so we ate and fed our three kiddos. You can bet that after driving through that, this momma had a long, tall margarita. Then it rained on us again in Wichita Falls!! We finally completed the shopping (3 shopping carts, 2 baby bottles, and 1 margarita later) and got home about 4:00. The kids and I took naps at weird hours again, waking at their bedtime. We had mac ‘n’ cheese, watched a few minutes of Charlotte’s Web, changed two diapers, fixed two sippy’s of milk, slipped into two pairs of jammies, brushed tiny teeth, changed diapers again, and finally tucked the babies into bed. Then tucked them in again. And again. And again. And again. Aaaaaand one last time. Then I managed to muster up the strength from somewhere deep in my little toe to do the dishes (four days worth) and clean the camper. Big sigh. Then I sat down to have some Bible time, but Caleb came home (Yay!), so we hit the hay.
