It was nice to catch up and have lunch with fellow harvest friends.

More rain last night and today. Since no one in our area was able to cut, we decided to meet up with some of our harvester friends & fellow HarvestHER – Nancy Eberts of Eberts Harvesting Inc.!

After lunch, I stopped at the most awesome little store in Frederick, OK. In its former life, it was a Case IH dealership. But, now it’s been transformed into the coolest home store. In addition to home stuff, they sell boots and still have a parts counter. I’m telling you, if all JD’s had this kind of store, I would gladly make all our parts runs!

If you haven’t tried this stuff, you really should. Support your local FFA!

We ran some errands and found my very favorite Blue & Gold sausage! Seriously, if you haven’t tried this stuff, you need to. (Contact your local FFA chapter to see about getting some!)

Back at the camper, I finished up payroll for the guys and tied up a few loose ends.

Even though today was a great day visiting and shopping, I am more than ready to get back in the field and be busy. Hoping it’ll start to dry up after tomorrow!

(FYI…today is also Amanda’s birthday. 🎉🎉)

HarvestHER

Definition of a HarvestHER - a strong woman willing to do whatever it takes to get the harvest in. She must have these qualities:

1. Be ready to go at the drop of a hat...sometimes without a lunchbox.
2. Has removed the word impossible from her vocabulary!
3. Can hold a baby, take care of a toddler and drive a tractor or combine all at the same time.
4. Must be able to cook for a crew - large or small.
5. Must be able to read minds.
6. Must be able to banter with a parts man until he realizes you DO know what you're talking about.
7. Must be the entertainment director for those rainy days.
8. Be a wife, mom, friend, helper, cook, problem solver, taxi driver or extra crew hand at all times.
9. Can handle the call that makes you react, "You need what? When?" Dropping everything you're doing to make it happen.
10. At the end of the day say, "I really do love this life".
