Nancy Eberts – Eberts Harvesting, Inc.
Day 5
Myron and three of the guys are in Frederick, Oklahoma. They have cut both barley and wheat in the last two days…not in large quantities but considering the weather and availability of crops, we are glad to have made it safely and are working.
With all the business of setting up, cutting, a broken washing machine and a camper leak, no one is necessarily sending photos OR updates.
I under stand that but still can’t help but want to see pictures and know who is all there and how everyone is. I want to see what’s new at one of my favorite shopping places – BOX! I want to see our farmers and all the other harvesters!
BUT I am here at home and……..w a i t i n g ……..for a call…or a photo. Although I am busy and still turning on my electric blanket at night, I can’t help but wonder, especially tonight as there are a million storm, tornado, and hail warnings out there!
Josh did send a few photos and I appreciate that. It is just different not being there and instead being here. It will be good to, hopefully, get on the road and team up with the rest next week.
Maybe there isn’t much for service in a shelter? Maybe they are simply sleeping ? Maybe they are visiting with neighbors and harvesters and forgetting about me? I wonder how the ladies whom are at home deal with this? Maybe the phone calls are more scheduled for them? Pretty sure each one of us deal with “being informed” in one way or another.
So, I will keep my eyes glued to the TV and Facebook and pray and hope everyone is OK!
