Nancy Eberts – Eberts Harvesting Inc.
This morning the temperature was -11°!!!!! However, the wind chill is -35°! And tonight, it is gonna be colder, possible -45° windchill.
I am old enough to remember more than a few of these kinds of days here in good ‘ole North Dakota! Generations of our families survived and we will too!
Harvest 2017 is already happening…(and to think HarvestHER Tara Heil just got home). We are taking applications and are already in the “interview/visiting” process.
So great to see so many young men considering the harvest, or just simply doing what they have always wanted to do.
The paperwork is truly never-ending but it needs to be done. The reality of “it won’t be long” is lurking everywhere. Sometimes I feel like a cowgirl holding the gate so the “herd” has to stay in yet awhile!
I might be in a bit of denial as I am still enjoying my Christmas. 🎄 Just this morning, I finally made the Chex mix that has been in the bowl undone for so long. Myron has been eating it and my measurements weren’t gonna be right.
Turned out great…worth a try, but then again anything caramel plus salt is worth a try.
I am able to enjoy my late evenings sitting with all the lights on and fireplace going while I crochet.
Sometimes I just watch Myron with the remote in the other chair and wait till he falls asleep 😴 (which, in these temperatures and snowy weather, is the norm lately). Once he’s out, I shut off that silly tv and enjoy us, our home and the lights. So much meaning in all the decorations and the season.
I especially love the three kings; reflecting on them is wonderful. To undertake such a journey for such a purpose. Awesome! I will keep vigil another week or so (as they journey home) and then will have to take down my Christmas and clean that storage room!
Almost forgot…speaking about journeys, I am most excited about my Christmas gift! Can’t wait to hit the trails this spring and summer! Should be able to call me “the yeller flash” by fall harvest!
Once I got up this morning, I realized I was out of bread so baked buns. Then, because of the cold, decided to make chicken noodle soup and ham and cheese sliders for lunch. The drivers and snow blowers will be cold! I decided to make bbq’s for supper, beings I had enough buns. While in the kitchen, made the Chex mix for a treat.
So now I will finish cleaning and head back to the office to tackle IFTA and the “new year” filing.
Have a great day everyone!
